Why are there no cookies found on my website?

There may be several reasons why no cookies have yet been found on your website. We have listed the most common reasons why this might happen.

  • Your scan is not yet complete. It may take up to 24 hours for your website to scan properly and all cookies to be stored.
  • You just started with CookieFirst and you forgot to disable the old cookie banner on your site which also blocks cookies.
  • Your scan has failed. There could be a number of reasons for this. Please send an email to support so we can help you.
  • If you have a firewall or bot protection software, make sure you whitelist our IPs for the scanner:
    • 51.68.85.47
    • 51.68.87.245
    • 57.128.111.159
    • 51.68.91.78
  • Your robots.txt discourages robots not to index and access the website.
  • Your firewall might be blocking our user-agent:
    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:75.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/75.0/CookieCheck
  • Or you execute cookies/scripts that set cookies based on either our local storage or cookie item. In that case make sure to write a script that checks whether a visitor user agent contains CookieCheck and then execute everything. In this case you might want to raise a support ticket so we can help you out.

After you checked the above you can request our support team for a new scan.
